Your files are never uploaded. Everything runs inside your own browser, so there is no server that could receive, store or leak your documents. You can even switch off your internet connection after the page has loaded and it keeps working.

Yes. It is free with no daily limits, no file-size caps, no sign-up and no watermarks. Very large files depend on your device’s memory, not on any quota.
Does it work offline?

Which languages does OCR support?
OCR works for English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish, Russian, Greek, Urdu, Arabic, Persian, Hindi and Bengali, and the recognised text is stored so it can be searched and copied.
Can it open password-protected or damaged PDFs?
Yes. If you know the password, it asks for it and opens the file on your device. Many damaged files are repaired automatically.
